yo, homie! it’s naomi
A bit about me
I love to travel—38 countries and counting—but call Chicago home. I was born and raised in Chicago and have lived here my whole life (excluding four years in New Orleans for college. OH, and my insatiable desire to travel and see somewhere new). I work in marketing on the branding side of things and could talk about growing brands and finding trends from data all day long. On this website, you’ll find stories and tips about life in Chicago and adventures away from home.
We’re the same type of weird if:
- You overuse chopsticks: they’re my trick to keeping kale chips fluffy!
- You think dogs are cute but you think people who stop strangers to pet their dogs have too much chutzpah
- You love a good museum, but think 90 minutes is the ideal amount of time to spend at one.
- You make dinner reservations for wayyyy in advance so you can eat somewhere new at a reasonable time.
- You think the Bachelor franchise is a cultural icon and Bachelor in Paradise season 2 was the best of them all (Jade and Tanner!!!)
- You love Chicago, but hate when it gets below 40 degrees.
- You think the best way to explore a city is on foot. If I’m not getting at least 15,000 steps a day then I’m doing something wrong!
- You’re equally as enticed by a green smoothie and a juicy burger that’s bigger than your head.
- You want to find more sustainable ways to live because according to Bill Nye the planet is on fire and that’s scary!
- You get excited strolling the non-dairy milk aisle and seeing what new milk was created from some nut/vegetable you didn’t know you “needed” to be getting more of in your diet.
